About this time last year, I created
a network map of Europe re-imagining the continent as a social network. Below is a network map for the entire world, showing all countries recognized by the United Nations who share at least one land border with another country. Country node sizes are based on the number of borders they have, and their colors are based on their continent (using the seven continent model common in the United States). The flipped orientation is due to the layout algorithm I used in Gephi.
